Lockout Tagout: Electrical Room

Train Employees For The Unexpected With VR

Every year in the US, thousands of people are injured by electricity. Occasionally, employees may encounter energized equipment and circuits or have the potential for energization while performing expected work activities. Without proper prevention, an Arc flash may occur.

An Arc flash (often called a flashover) is a type of electrical explosion or discharge that results from a connection through air to ground or another voltage phase in an electrical system. For example, when a wire makes contact with an earthed system. Working in or near electrical panels and systems increases your chance of exposure to an arc flash and requires extreme precautions.

Content Overview

The primary goal of this course is to teach workers safe work procedures while performing work activities around electrical areas. The user will learn:

  • The proper locking out and tagging out electrical equipment.
  • How to properly do a Live – Dead – Live check.
  • Practices that can eliminate or minimize electrical hazards.
  • The proper use of electrical test equipment.
  • Electrical fundamentals
  • Properly managing arc flash risks
  • Electrical Safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The simulation is ideal for personnel working in and around hazardous electrical areas.
